Barrique Room

I honestly think that a serious step up in the development of each winemaker is to catch up with the refinement of wine in the oak barrels. It is probably the general opinion of the average consumer: you buy barrels, fill them with wine, you wait for a while, fill in bottles and Voila, reach the top of the winemaking.

In fact, it’s totally different.

Wine Tourism

Each winery has its own developmental path that is both beautiful and rugged. A little over two years ago during the filming of Wine and Vineyards, we promised Wine tourism and now we have fulfilled.

We have made the opening on November 5th as a test of whether we were up to the organization of such events and managed it completely. Surrounded by about fifty business partners and dear friends, we all enjoyed together and showed readiness for the next step, which is the development of wine tourism in our winery and our wine region.

Tasting white wines from the 2016 vintage And En Primeur Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 in Vino wine bar

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in a wine bar ‘Vino’ in the Crveni Krst (‘Red Cross’) suburb of Belgrade, a small yet carefully selected a group of wine connoisseurs was to explore the latest wines of the respected winery from Fruška Gora – Trivanović Winery from Erdevik. A group of sommeliers, wine journalists and wine traders tasted five wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 to be released only in early 2018. They could have experienced firsthand an exciting development and progress of the winery about to enter their best years, with their substantial vineyards entering the prime age.

Small retrospective of our family winery from the beginning of sales of our wines at the beginning of 2014 until today

We started modestly, comparing in the beginning inability to sale in the first years, having ordinary and average wines with totally wrong perception of the label. I thought: “I have discovered hot water, and someone is producing wines for hundred of years, and I will show the world that wine label can have different looks“. In fact, it looked too much different and had a poor and somewhat frivolous looks. Adding it to our failed attempt to offer wine closed with screw cap, technology for closing wine bottles (which, in fact, is really good for young white wines and rose, but our folks is seasoned wine connoisseur and enjoyer and do not want to have such closure from unknown and new wineries) and mediocre wine, we come to relatively low sales and uninterested buyers.

Trivanović in Niš

Nice wine festival Naissus Wine & Fine without us? Very hard…

The very idea that a rather unknown winery in the south of Serbia, introduce audiences in Nis, was a reason for skepticism. And is there any reason for such attitude? Of course not. To be clear, we are not completely unknown in the south. News about the international success of our wines that are achieved in the last few months of the year, were sufficient for storage in the subconscious. In order to reach out to awareness, and to become regular guest at the wine shop shelves, as well as an integral part of the wine lists of mighty restaurants from that part of the country, it was really justified “to beat” all the way. Stories and conscience are one, and direct tasting something completely different!

Salon of wine in the hotel Zira

Another Salon of wine in the hotel Zira. The visit was a “real wine”, professional. The mood of everyone on their toes. Impressions of our wines ultra positive, refreshing fruity Pinot grigio salvation for the upcoming summer days with its citrus notes, Sauvignon blanc with its herbal notes incorporating the natural acids. Blaufrankisch, red fruit miracle that elicits a smile on  every face after a single sip, and of course Shiraz limited, our kind of trademark, is still on the rise, incorporated, gentle, fruity …
